Week 2: God’s Plans
Theme Verse:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Welcome & Intentional Start
Let’s begin by setting our hearts on God.
You can read this prayer aloud or in silence:
Opening Prayer:
Father, thank You for gathering us in Your presence today. Quiet our thoughts and help us focus on You. Remind us that no matter what we’re facing, Your plans are good, and Your love is constant. Help us to trust You more. In Jesus' name, amen.
Worship
Choose one or more of these songs to sing, listen to, or reflect on:
-
“Trust in You” – Lauren Daigle
-
“Way Maker” – Leeland
-
Psalm 33 – Read aloud or reflect on its words of praise and trust
Feel free to add your favorite worship songs that speak of God’s guidance and faithfulness.
Scripture Reading
Begin with the theme verse, Jeremiah 29:11.
If you'd like to read it in context, consider reading Jeremiah 29:4–14, where God speaks to His people living in exile, encouraging them to trust Him during uncertain times.
Discussion & Reflection
Talk about or journal your thoughts on these questions:
-
What does it mean to you that God has plans for your life?
-
Have you ever gone through a time when you couldn’t see God’s plan until later? What did you learn?
-
How can we trust God’s timing when things feel uncertain or disappointing?
Prayer Time
Invite everyone to spend time in personal or group prayer. You can pray aloud, silently, or write your prayers in a journal.
Here are a few prompts to help guide your prayer time:
-
Thank God for His promises and plans.
-
Ask for peace when His plan doesn’t look like yours.
-
Pray for guidance in a specific area where you're unsure what to do.
Breaking Bread (Optional)
If you’d like to take communion together this week, here’s a simple reminder:
Take a moment to remember Jesus—His body broken and His blood poured out for our salvation.
As you eat and drink, reflect on the hope and future we have because of Him.
Challenge for the Week
Each day this week, pause and say:
“God, I trust Your plan for me today.”
Look for one way to surrender your own plans to Him—whether it’s in your schedule, your worries, or your decisions.
Closing Thought
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
— Proverbs 16:3
May you walk in peace this week, knowing that the One who holds your future is already walking with you.
