Week 12: Bearing Fruit

Theme Verse:

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
— Galatians 5:22 (NIV)

Welcome & Intentional Start

Let’s begin by asking the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts and make us fruitful for God’s glory.

Opening Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we welcome You. Grow in us the fruit that reflects Your presence in our lives. Help us to walk in step with You and to live in a way that brings honor to Jesus. Let our hearts be fertile ground for Your work. In Jesus' name, amen.

Worship

These worship songs and Scripture celebrate the work of the Spirit in our lives:

  • “Holy Spirit” – Francesca Battistelli

  • “Spirit Lead Me” – Influence Music & Michael Ketterer

  • Psalm 92:12–14 – "The righteous will flourish like a palm tree... they will still bear fruit in old age."

Use this time to invite the Spirit to move freely in your heart and life.

Scripture Reading

Start with the theme verse, Galatians 5:22.
For the full context, read Galatians 5:16–26, which contrasts life in the flesh with life led by the Spirit.

Discussion & Reflection

Reflect on or discuss the following:

  1. Which fruit of the Spirit do you see growing in your life right now?

  2. Which fruit feels hardest to walk in consistently?

  3. How can we stay connected to the Spirit so that fruit grows naturally?

Prayer Time

Spend time inviting God to shape you from the inside out.

Prayer Prompts:

  • Thank God for the work He’s doing in your heart.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to grow specific fruit in your life.

  • Pray for strength to choose the Spirit’s way over the flesh each day.

Breaking Bread (Optional)

If sharing communion this week:

Remember that the life and love of Jesus made a way for the Holy Spirit to live in us. As you take communion, commit again to bearing fruit for God’s kingdom.

Challenge for the Week

Choose one fruit of the Spirit to focus on this week.

Ask yourself daily:
“How can I walk in [love, joy, peace, etc.] today?”

Write it down and pray about it each morning.

Closing Thought

“This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.”
— John 15:8

May your life be full of the Spirit’s fruit and a beautiful witness to the goodness of God.
