Week 10: Trust in the Lord

Theme Verse:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

Welcome & Intentional Start

Let’s begin this time by laying down our worries and lifting our hearts to God.

Opening Prayer:
Father, You are faithful and true. We come to You today with our hopes, our fears, and our questions. Teach us to trust You completely. Help us to release control and rest in the knowledge that You are good and You are with us. In Jesus' name, amen.

Worship

These songs and Scripture can help center your heart on trusting God:

  • “Trust in You” – Lauren Daigle

  • Psalm 37:3–5 – "Trust in the Lord and do good... He will make your righteous reward shine."

Sing or listen with the posture of surrender and confidence in God's plans.

Scripture Reading

Begin with the theme verse, Proverbs 3:5.
Then read Proverbs 3:5–6, which completes the thought: "In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Discussion & Reflection

Use these questions for personal reflection or conversation:

  1. What areas of your life are hardest to trust God with right now?

  2. Why do you think it's so tempting to lean on our own understanding?

  3. How can we grow in trusting God more deeply each day?

Prayer Time

Take time to talk with God about what you're holding onto and what you need to surrender.

Prayer Prompts:

  • Confess any areas where you're struggling to trust.

  • Ask God to help you lean on His wisdom instead of your own.

  • Pray for peace, guidance, and a heart that trusts fully.

Breaking Bread (Optional)

If sharing communion this week:

As you take the bread and the cup, remember Jesus' perfect trust in the Father, even unto death. Let it inspire you to trust God's love and plan in your own life.

Challenge for the Week

Each day this week, declare Proverbs 3:5 out loud. Let it become a reminder and an anchor.

Write this down and repeat it when you're unsure:
“I trust You, Lord, with all my heart.”

Closing Thought

“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.”
— Jeremiah 17:7

May your heart rest in God's faithful hands this week as you walk by faith, not by sight.
