Start Here: What's The Waymaker's Misfit All About?

If you’ve ever felt like something was off in the modern church—like you were going through the motions but not growing—you’re not alone. This space was created for believers who love Jesus but are ready to return to what the Bible actually says about faith, discipleship, worship, and community.

Whether you’re currently in a traditional church, in transition, or quietly walking this out with Jesus on your own, this blog exists to remind you: God is still moving. He still speaks. And He always preserves a remnant.

What You'll Find Here

This blog is built around two main types of content:

  1. Weekly Gathering Posts
Simple, Scripture-based guides for worshiping at home with your spouse, your family, or even on your own. These are released every Sunday morning and include:

  • A weekly Scripture theme

  • Worship suggestions

  • Prayer prompts

  • Reflection questions

  • A challenge to live out your faith

If you're looking for a way to stay grounded each week without needing a stage or program, this is a great place to begin. Click here to view all Weekly Gatherings

  1. Truth-Seeking Blog Posts
These posts explore the deeper questions:

  • Why does church sometimes feel spiritually empty?

  • What is real discipleship?

  • How do I test what I’ve been taught?

  • What do I do when my church won't change?

Each post is designed to challenge tradition without tearing people down, and to help you walk faithfully with Jesus, even when the path feels lonely.

New blog posts are released every Wednesday, so be sure to check back midweek for encouragement, teaching, and thought-provoking reflections.

Start with these foundational posts:

Why I Created This Space

I’ve seen the good and the painful parts of church life. I know what it’s like to be labeled for asking hard questions. I also know what it’s like to rediscover the joy of simply walking with Jesus.

This blog isn’t here to start debates or stir division. It’s here to help those who feel displaced or discouraged to find peace, clarity, and purpose in God’s Word again.

How to Stay Connected

  • Check back each Sunday for a new Weekly Gathering post.

  • Look for new blog posts every Wednesday for fresh encouragement.

  • Subscribe to receive future resources or announcements.

  • Use the labels to explore posts by topic.

You don’t need to figure everything out overnight. Just keep walking, keep asking, and keep seeking Jesus above all else.

“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” —Jeremiah 29:13
