Week 6: Loving Others

Theme Verse:

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Welcome & Intentional Start

Let’s prepare our hearts to hear from God and walk in His love.

Opening Prayer:
Lord, thank You for showing us how to love through the life of Jesus. Help us today to grow in compassion and kindness. Open our eyes to the needs of those around us, and teach us to love selflessly, just as You love us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Worship

Use these songs and a psalm to help set the tone for this week’s theme:

  • Psalm 15 – A reminder of living with integrity and love toward others

Let the worship point you toward what it means to live out love in action.

Begin with the theme verse, Matthew 22:39.
For a broader understanding, read Matthew 22:36–40, where Jesus teaches that loving God and loving others are the two greatest commandments.

Discussion & Reflection

Take time to think about or discuss these questions:

  1. Who is your “neighbor” according to Jesus’ teaching?

  2. What makes it hard to love others at times, and how can God help?

  3. What does it look like to love someone with your actions, not just words?

Prayer Time

Invite God to show you areas where you can grow in love and grace.

Prayer Prompts:

  • Ask God to help you see others the way He sees them.

  • Pray for someone in your life who is difficult to love.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions this week.

Remember the love Christ showed by giving Himself for you. As you break bread and drink the cup, recommit to walking in His love and letting that love pour out into your relationships.

Challenge for the Week

Do one intentional act of love or kindness each day this week.

Ask yourself:
“How can I love my neighbor today?”

Being on fire for Jesus feels amazing—until it doesn’t. At first, you feel unstoppable. Your eyes have been opened, your heart is burning, and you want to live out your faith in a real, tangible way . But then, you hit resistance. Not from unbelievers, but from fellow believers. Why Are People Threatened by Passion? Many people feel threatened when they see someone on fire for Jesus. Instead of encouraging that fire, they step in to stop it .
