Week 3: Strength in Christ
Theme Verse:
“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
— Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
Welcome & Intentional Start
Let’s take a moment to pause and focus our hearts on the Lord.
Opening Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for being our source of strength. As we gather together, help us lay down our burdens and lean on You. Fill us with courage, endurance, and peace. Let this time draw us closer to You and to one another. In Your powerful name, amen.
Worship
Here are some songs and a psalm to help guide your worship today:
-
“Battle Belongs” – Phil Wickham
-
“You Make Me Brave” – Amanda Cook
-
Psalm 18:1–2 – "I love you, Lord, my strength..."
Let these words remind you of God’s power and presence in your life.
Scripture Reading
Start with the theme verse, Philippians 4:13.
To understand the full context, read Philippians 4:10–13, where Paul shares about finding contentment in every circumstance through Christ’s strength.
Discussion & Reflection
Reflect on these questions personally or with your group:
-
What situations in your life right now require God’s strength?
-
How does relying on Christ change the way you handle difficulties?
-
What does it mean to be content and strong even when circumstances aren’t ideal?
Prayer Time
Spend time talking to God about your needs and the things weighing on your heart. You might pray individually, together, or write your prayers.
Prayer Prompts:
-
Ask God for strength in specific areas of weakness or challenge.
-
Thank Him for the times He’s carried you through before.
-
Pray for someone else who needs God’s strength this week.
Breaking Bread (Optional)
If you choose to share communion this week:
Remember Jesus, who gave His life so we could live in victory. As you take the bread and cup, reflect on His strength made perfect in your weakness.
Challenge for the Week
This week, whenever you feel overwhelmed or weak, pause and say:
“Jesus, I need Your strength right now.”
Write Philippians 4:13 somewhere visible as a daily reminder.
Closing Thought
“The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.”
— Psalm 29:11
May you be filled with His strength and peace as you walk through this week.
